Normandy is synonymous with one of the most famous days in history – D Day when around 160,000 Allied troops invaded Normandy on June 6th 1944 in what provided the key turning point of World War II. As well as the famous landing beaches, you'll be able to discover some of the more unknown stories from the Battle of Normandy and for those who want to step further back in history, Normandy offers rich insights into the Middle Ages as the birthplace of William the Conqueror and home of the Bayeux Tapestry.
